- Established on May 10, 1977, when Charleston Memorial Hospital and the
Mattoon Memorial Hospital merged into the new health care facility, located
between the two cities. The new Center was named after Abraham Lincoln's
stepmother, Sarah Bush Lincoln. The library provides informational services
to the SBLHS physicians, staff, patients, and the communities in its service
area. It also provides point-of-service information to patients using the
Patient Resource Center located on the 4th Floor Adult Care Unit.
