- The U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories
(USACERL), established in 1968, is part of the U.S. Army Engineer
Research and Development Center (US Army ERDC). CERL conducts research
to support sustainable military installations. Research is directed
toward increasing the Army's ability to more efficiently construct,
operate, and maintain its installations and ensure environmental
quality and safety at a reduced life-cycle cost. The library provides
information services in support of this mission. Subject Strengths:
Construction Management; Civil and Structural Engineering; Architectural
Design; Environmental Engineering; Pollution Prevention; Threatened
and Endangered Species. Special Collections: USACERL reports; Department
of Army publications/ regulations; Corps of Engineers publications/regulations;
military specifications.
