Deadline for Additional Bus to ALA Conference Exhibits Extended: The annual conference of the American Library Association, to be held in Chicago, June 25-28, has the oldest and largest vendor exhibit dedicated to the library market. This is a terrific opportunity to see the best and latest in products and services. There are still spaces available on the second bus. The cost of this event is $35 for non-CLaSS members and $25 for CLaSS members. Exhibit passes are included. To sign up for this bus trip, email email@example.com and indicate the event, the name of your institution, and the names of the people who want to attend. The deadline to sign up is Friday, May 27.
The three Comprehensive Community Outreach meetings (formerly scheduled for May 26th at Lincoln Trail, May 31st in Arcola, and June 2nd in Watseka) have been postponed until July and August, 2005. This is a busy time of year, and it appears that rescheduling these important meetings will work out better for all concerned. We regret any inconvenience, and we look forward to helping to build more connections between libraries and diverse populations.
Proposed revisions to the LTLS Interlibrary Loan Policy and Resource Access Policy will be submitted for approval at the LTLS Board meeting on May 23. The LTLS Planning/Policy Committee thanks the member libraries that submitted written comments. Final draft revisions for both policies and a summary of comments received are posted at http://ltnet.ltls.org/boardpackets/may2005/may2005bod.html under the report of the Planning/Policy Committee.
