Horizon PC-Reliance     List of Categories

1. During a downtime, we used PC Reliance. After we uploaded the transactions, we noticed that on several patrons' records, past activity has shown up. For example, there was a patron who's record showed that a book was checked out and due back in April, and it was charging fines but when the librarian looked on the shelf it was there. Any ideas why this is happening? I think perhaps some old data was uploaded from PC Reliance from the prior time we used it.

   Yes, it does sound like there was some old PC Reliance data that was included with the upload. Whenever PC Reliance is launched, it should ask if you wish to clear the transactions file (transactions are kept on each PC that is using PC Reliance). During a downtime, this should be done at the beginning of the downtime (to clear any old transactions from a previous downtime). However, if the downtime continues more than one day, these transactions would need to be saved until the upload can be done for all transactions accumulated during that downtime. It's probably best practice to go in and clear these transactions once the upload is completed (before someone forgets they are there the next time PC Reliance is used).
