Horizon Overdue Notices     List of Categories

  1. Is there a way to 'fix' overdue burbs so they appear in the patron's record the day after the item is due instead of the second day after the item is due?

  2. We have asked that the phrases: Pickup at: Item Held until: be removed from all but hold notices. It is appearing on overdue notices and bills as well as on the hold notices.

  3. On the overdue notices, we are printing only partial lists at times. One day, there was only one overdue notice. This week, notices printed for patrons P-Z. Went into Select to view items and there were no notices for patrons A-O.

  4. On a Final Notice, the lost processing fee is not included in the list of charges, only the cost of the book. Can this be added?

  5. When checking the blocks for overdue notices, the "date" listed is the "overdue date", not the actual due date of the item. The date on the overdue notice is correct as the due date. As a courtesy we let patrons know if they have other items overdue and when they were due. When we check the patron's block the date it shows is the day after the due date or the date it became overdue. It would be less confusing if the date shown on the block was the actual due date.

  6. Why am I printing out so many more notices for my patrons?

  7. Overdue notices don't show the correct balance.

  8. My library is getting a 'java script' error when I try and process email auto notices.

  1. Is there a way to 'fix' overdue burbs so they appear in the patron's record the day after the item is due instead of the second day after the item is due?

We have changed procedures to accommodate this request. All processes in Day End are run every day at 9:30 pm, except the processing of overdue blocks. This is now being run as a second task at 5:00 am of the next day. This means that any item due the previous day is now appearing in the patron record once this second process is finished running.

Auto notices can only be set one way, for both overdue notices and hold notices. Unfortunately, some important language for one notice seems irrelevant for the other.

When this occurs, please contact the LTLS automation department, explain the situation, and ask that notices be re-generated. Sometimes, we need to involve Dynix in troubleshooting this situation.

  4. On a Final Notice, the lost processing fee is not included in the list of charges, only the cost of the book. Can this be added?

The Lost processing fee is not yet assessed at the time a Final Notice is produced. It doesn't get calculated until the item is set to lost.

The block view uses the burb table and only the date the "od" overdue block was created is shown. The only option is to override the burb screen and you should then be able to see the due date if you list all items out. The OD block should have been generated the day after the item was due.

  6. Why am I printing out so many more notices for my patrons?

In Horizon, all notices are printed for a borrower by the 'home' location of the borrower. So, if your borrowers use another library to check out items and place requests, you will still be printing their notices for them.

  7. Overdue notices don't show the correct balance.

Horizon overdue notices do not generate a 'grand total' on the notice. Only individual fines/fees are listed for each particular block that has fines/fees attached to it.

  8. My library is getting a 'java script' error when I try and process email auto notices.

Please email 'rjohns@lincolntrail.info' if you receive this message while attempting to process email notices.
