We have patrons trying to use MediaMall on a MAC. They are getting error messages.
Unfortunately, Media Mall audiobooks are not available for the MAC as the MAC version of Windows Media Player does not currently support copy-protected Windows Media Audio (WMA) files. Overdrive Audio Books are delivered in the WMA format. MAC users can download e-books from the Media Mall site.

If a patron finishes an audiobook and wants to return it early, is that possible?
No, audiobooks cannot be returned early. They are checked out to a patron until the end of the 21 day circulation period. Only e-books can be returned, by a patron, before the end of the 21 day circulation period.

Can any patron who is registered in LINC use Media Mall?
Yes, all active patrons from all LINC libraries can use Media Mall. The only patron whose barcode will not work in Media Mall are those whose card has expired. Expired patrons will get a message that they must go to a circulation desk.

Can Media Mall's e-books and downloadable audiobooks be downloaded in the library?
The OverDrive Audio and eBook platform, used by Media Mall, is in use in over 1000 public libraries and is primarily designed for remote patron access. OverDrive typically doesn't recommend that patrons download Audio Books onto public library PC terminals for the following reasons:
1. Security, security, security: You need to open your Public Library PC's to downloads from the Internet. Patrons could download unsafe content such as adult material or virus-infected attachments
2. Limited space on public PC's
3. Maintenance and trouble shooting of Library PC's
3. Customer support in library
4. Limited number of PC's are available. Listening to Audio Books in the library would tie up those stations
If you want to allow the use of public Internet PC's you will need the following:
1. PC's will require installations of Window's Media Player (9 or newer) and OverDrive Media Console
2. Ability to connect to Internet and download audio files
3. Security software that wipes your library PC terminals clean at the end of day or when you re-boot.

Is there a list of the videos available through MyMediaMall?
You can search for all video titles on the Media Mall main page (www.mymediamall.net), click on 'Advanced' search on the left (under the Quick Search box). At the Advanced search page, under the Format option, choose 'Overdrive Videos' from the drop down box and don't enter anything else in any of the other fields. When you click on Search, it will bring back a list of all video titles that have been purchased as of today.
