- During 1994-1995 residents outside the city limits of
Marshall but within Marshall Community Unit School District #C-2,
in cooperation with Lincoln Trail Libraries System, were part of
an Illinois State Library regional demonstration grant project. Residents
of this potential library district voted in November 1995 in favor
of establishing Marshall Area Public Library District, and the new
public library's first tax levy was established in 1996. Marshall
Area Public Library District serves the population residing outside
the city limits of Marshall but within Marshall Community Unit
School District #C-2. The newly-formed district contracts with Marshall
Public Library to provide service for its residents.
