4 Tips to Live Happily

Will I ever be happy? Nothing around me is working out as planned. I have so many problems”. These are some of the questions my subconscious mind keeps throwing at me on a daily basis. It gets me wondering if I really know how to live peacefully and happily.

As time went by, I realized I had the ingredients to create a peaceful and happy life for myself. Besides, if it’s my life that means I’m in charge and I make the rules. Here are the simple ways I made my life peaceful and happy:

1. PLAN

Get a notebook and layout your plans. I don’t mean write everything you want to do, just start by having a daily plan. It could be small chores and tasks for each day and go ticking what you accomplish as the day goes by. You will realize that this brings you the inner satisfaction that is followed by happiness. Planning helps you have a peaceful mind since you know you will not forget anything.

2. SLOW DOWN

Whenever you feel overwhelmed by all your work and daily chores, slow down. Take some time and do nothing. You can listen to some music if that’s something that gives you joy or just put your feet up and closes your eyes. You can’t achieve much when you’re feeling tired and unmotivated. It is perfectly fine to take some time off to rejuvenate.

3. AVOID COMPARISON

The major thing that can put you down is comparing yourself to people around you. Be it friends or colleagues or even family. Comparing yourself to others is like regret, it’s a waste of time and energy so there is no need for doing so. When you find yourself doing this, just remind yourself that you are on a different path from everyone else and your pace is different. If you are putting in the work required and even going an extra mile, you will eventually reach your goal. You are an individual and so you must think like one.

4. SELF MOTIVATION

As human beings, we crave affection and human connection and all that is important. We all want to be understood and someone to cheer us on and pick us up when we’re down. There is nothing wrong with that. But at times, most times, you will have to be your own cheerleader. This is because we all have our lows and sometimes your best of friends will not be there or they will be busy handling their own lives. You will need to be your own best friend. This needs you to connect with and speak to your subconscious to be able to accomplish the tasks ahead of you.
