HORIZON 7.4, LINCPAC 4.1 UPGRADE SCHEDULED

The Horizon 7.4/LINCPac 4.1 upgrade, originally planned for August 2005, has been re-scheduled for February 7, 2006.  Although we don’t have a timeframe yet for the downtime, SirsiDynix support has told us to plan for the entire day.  More details will be released as they become available.

WEBREPORTER SUBSCRIPTIONS

WebReporter has a feature that let’s you subscribe to a report.  This means that you can pre-select the data for the report but choose to run it at a different time (such as 6 am).  When you log in after this scheduled time, your report will be waiting for you.

Here are the directions for subscribing to a report.
1. Login to WebReporter
2. Navigate to the page of reports you are interested in (ex: Shared Reports>Top 11)
3. At this page of reports, you should see the word Subscriptions as a link under each individual report.
4. Under the report you are interested in,  click on ‘subscriptions.  At the next screen, click ‘add subscription’.  You will then be taken through a page to set up the report.
5. Choose a schedule from the drop-down box and choose elements of the report needed (location, month/date, etc.)  Click OK.  This report will be added to your list of subscriptions.
6. Let the report run at the time specified, then log back into WebReporter.  At the top of the Shared Reports screen, click on ‘My Subscriptions’.  You will be taken to a list of your subscriptions.  Click on the name of the report (it will be a hyperlink).  If the report ran properly, the report will be presented.
7. Once you are done with this report, link back to ‘My Subscriptions,’ check the box at the far right of the report and click on ‘Unsubscribe’.  If you don’t do this, the report will regenerate every day at the scheduled time.

Subscribing to a report is useful if you know you need to run a large report and can wait a period of time before you need the data.  It’s also useful if you know you need a certain report everyday.  If you have questions about this, contact the LTLS automation department, 217-352-0047, x1.

OUR HOLIDAY GIFT TO YOU

We like to see you smile, so here are some laughs for you, from us:
• When a thief stole several volumes from the library, he was quickly booked.
• If you take a laptop computer for a run, you could jog your memory.
• Who are people who tell jokes on December 25?
(answer: Christmas cards)
