13-DIGIT ISBN REQUIRES HORIZON UPGRADEThe move to 13-digit ISBN numbers requires upgrades to both Horizon and LINCPac. This has been scheduled for January 9, 2007 and will require several hours of downtime. More information about the actual downtime will be posted as details become available. This upgrade also means that each Horizon staff workstation, in all LINC libraries, must be upgraded as well. We will send out the Horizon 7.3.4 CD-ROM and installation instructions to each LINC library by the end of November. Your upgrade can be pre-installed before the January 9 date but should not be used until the server upgrade has been finished on January 9. As a result of the upgrade, Horizon will have the following enhancements:

E-RATE TIMELINEThe Universal Service Form 471 application filing window for Funding Year 2007 will open at noon EST on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 and will close at 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. The filing window will be open for 86 days. The FY2007 Eligible Services List has important new information regarding interconnected Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), redundant components, installation and configuration (training), KVM switches, fees for Universal Service administration, and wireless Internet.
