LOCAL HOLDS TEST SUSPENDED BY LINC POLICY COUNCIL |
As a result of the special LINC Policy Council meeting on 6/22/2006, the Local Holds Test implementation was suspended and the following notification was sent to the LINC Directors Group on that date: “At today's LINC Policy Council meeting, a unanimous decision was made to suspend the current implementation of Local Holds because of the unintended consequences and public service issues the current implementation has raised. All items in a local hold itype will be reconfigured by LTLS staff so they are requestable by any patron, for pickup at any library. We will retain the local hold itype in each item but will allow this itype to be requestable by anyone. This means that staff in libraries using the local hold itype will not have to batch change items at this time. The LINC Policy Council also approved another motion to send the Local Holds issue back to the LINC Policy Council Local Holds committee, for further examination and study, with an August 30 deadline for the committee to present a new recommendation on the Local Holds issue.” | |
| 2006 - 070 | REQUEST PULL LIST |
| Recently, we’ve found some libraries are incorrectly generating a request list (from Circulation Reports) and getting a huge number (over 10,000) requests. If you inadvertently choose the "Request" option under the pull-down menu called Request, you will generate a list of all requests in the system. The correct option to choose is "Request Pull List." This will generate a list of all requests for your location only. | |
