| 2005 - 076 | DEBT COLLECT |
| Champaign Public Library has now implemented the Horizon Debt Collect module. This module automatically sends lists of patrons to a collection service, based on parameters set up by the library. Day End Processing, which runs every night, automatically prepares and emails this file to the collection service used by Champaign, Unique Management. Horizon Debt Collect can work with other collection services and libraries can set up their own parameters for selecting patrons. If you are interested in using this module, please contact Rita Johnson, rjohns@lincolntrail.info. | |
| 2005 - 077 | PROMPTCAT UPDATE |
| The first PromptCat files were successfully uploaded by the LTLS Cataloging Center last week. PromptCat MARC record files are currently prepared by OCLC when a Baker & Taylor order has been shipped to a library. The Cataloging Center staff is examining the quality of the records to make sure they meet the parameters in the group PromptCat profile. | |
| 2005 - 078 | FEATURED WEBREPORTER REPORT |
This week, we will be featuring the "Summary of Fines and Fees by Borrower" report. It is a quick tool you can use to find out all the people who owe fines and how much they owe. To access the report, log into WebReporter and select "Shared Reports." Select the "Circulation" sub-folder and then the "Block Reports" sub-folder. You will find the report "Summary of Fines and Fees by Borrower." You are then given the opportunity to select the type of filter you would like to apply to the report. The easiest filter that will give you the most information about your library is to select "Borrower Location." You can apply as many filters as you would like to narrow your search. Once you have chosen your filters, select "Execute Report." You will then be taken to a new screen that asks you to apply the filters you have selected. Select "Execute Report" and this time it will produce your results. You will get a list of all the people that owe fines as well as a grand total.
| 2005 - 079 | INVENTORY IN LINC |
"HELP!!! I was kicked out of Horizon in the middle of inventory, and now I'm afraid I've lost all of the work I have done. What do I do?" If this happens to you, just get back into the inventory by going under Workstation Inventory Menu, pick the same collection code and start scanning again. The count of items scanned will start over at zero. Al previously scanned items have been date-stamped as inventoried. You can still pull up the exception report by not entering any numbers.
