2005 - 045 LINCPAC CHANGES APPROVED BY LINC POLICY COUNCIL
A policy allowing changes to the LINCPac web catalog was approved by LINC Policy Council at its March 16 meeting. These changes will be implemented during the week of March 28. A link to the ‘test’ version of the changes was made available in previous LINC Updates. Main changes to be made include an addition of a “Media’ search subtab, changes in the orders of indexes, different indexes available on the ‘Basic’ and ‘Media’ subtabs, changes in the order of the major ‘tabs,’ and some minor wording changes.

2005 - 046 SHARED ITYPE POLICY APPROVED BY LINC POLICY COUNCIL

LINC Policy Council approved a shared itype policy for the LINC libraries at its March 16 meeting. Passage of this policy means that individual libraries will need to ‘map’ their existing local itypes to the new shared itypes, as well as provide configuration information. LINC Policy Council recommended that the move from individual library itypes to shared itypes be completed by all libraries by June 1, 2005. In order to manage this process, a series of Itype Reconfiguration meetings will be scheduled by LTLS automation staff. Each LINC library director must attend one of these meetings (see Itype Reconfiguration Meeting information below).

LINC Policy Council also approved a policy allowing for the continuation of some individual itypes. Individual library itypes will be needed for certain circumstances, such as limiting circulation of materials to particular patrons. However, a request for an individual library itype must be approved by LINC Policy Council.

2005 - 047 ITYPE RECONFIGURATION MEETINGS

To manage the process of switching from individual library itypes to shared library itypes, a series of Itype Reconfiguration Meetings have been scheduled. Each LINC library director must attend one of these meetings:

2:30-4:00 pm, April 8 Lincoln Trail Libraries System
10:00-11:30 am, April 15 Watseka Public Library
2:30-4:00 pm, April 15 Danville Public Library
2:00-3:30 pm, April 29 Mattoon Public Library

At the meetings, library directors will receive current itype configuration information as well as forms that need to be filled out to map existing local itypes to the new shared itypes.

2005 - 048 FORMFEED PAPER ORDER
An email has gone out to LINC building directors with an order form for formfeed notice paper. The order form is online at: http://www.ltls.org/NoticePaperForm.html. Deadline for submitting an order is April 8, 2005.
