Title of Action Item PAC Search Menus
Background
The LINC libraries moved to the Horizon software platform in 2004. Horizon utilizes a web-based catalog, called LINCPac. Changes to the LINCPac catalog were recommended by the LINCPac Enhancements Committee in January, 2005.
LINCPAC Search Interface
There will be five tabs on the LINCPac screen, in this order:
1. LINC Catalog
2. My Account
3. Good Reads
4. Community
5. Databases
A sixth tab to a collaborative reference service (ŚMy Librarianą), will be added, except for libraries that specifically request this not be available on their agency LINCPac.
Each tab will have the following elements that link to different types of functionality:
LINC Catalog
The LINC Catalog tab will be the tab used for catalog searches. There will be
five subtabs – Basic, Media, Advanced, Numeric, Search History
If a Reserves Module is implemented, it will be added as a subtab under LINC Catalog in the LINCPAC accounts of those libraries that choose to use the module.
My Account
The My Account tab will be used for patron information. There will be five subtabs – Items Out, Overview, Requests, Fines/Notices, Profile
Good Reads
The Good Reads tab will be used to link to bestseller lists and recommended reading lists. There will be three subtabs – Bestseller Lists, Online Book Clubs, Electronic Books
Community Resources
The Community Resources tab will be used to link to community information. There will be three subtabs – Community Resources, HelpSource, and CORD
Databases
The Databases tab will link to library information resources. This is a link to the consolidated search product, WebFeat.
