LTLS Library Workers Day Recognition Form

Recognize Your Local Library Staff!

“National Library Workers Day,” established by the American Library Association, is Tuesday, April 4, 2006, during National Library Week. In conjunction with this day, Lincoln Trail Libraries System invites you to recognize the hard work, dedication, and expertise of the librarians and support staff in your local library.

Everyone is encouraged to show their appreciation for library workers—library users, students, children, colleagues, faculty, or management. You can recognize more than one person.

Use the form below to describe how someone in your library makes a difference for you as you seek information and materials or attend programs at your library. Please include the person’s name (last name optional), library, and city.

Your tribute and your name will be posted below.

Karen Hackman is a great asset to our Media Center. She is a wonderful and caring person and performs above and beyond her duties as a Librarian. I am very greatful to have a boss like her. Thanks, Karen, for all you do for me and the Student Body of Central High School. We appreciate your dedication and hard work!

Thank you to the many professionals at Lincoln Trail Libraries System! They are all of the libraries' backbone for support, resources, training, and legislative updates! Without them, many of us professionals would be greatly hampered in our ability to provide services for our patrons.

She has been real asset to me as well in the six years that I have worked here. Thanks, Jackie, for all of your hard work!

I work at the Tuscola and Arcola Public Libraries. The people I work with at both places are wonderful! They care about each person that enters their library and try to provide not only library services, but a welcoming, generous and kind attitude. There is a joy and willingness to do what needs to be done to provide what our patron is needing and wanting. And there is a patience in listening to those who just need to be heard. We also have fantastic board members who support us in every way and work hard to keep our libraries growing and vital. Thank you for all you do and are!!

I'd like to recognize the entire Champaign Public Library staff. They do a tremendous job everyday! Just within the three years that I have been in Champaign, I have have seen CPL circulation grow by 27 percent and with no real increase in number of staff. CPL staff continues to somehow keep up with all the increases even with more and more asked of them. They also continue to receive "gushing" praise from the public for their helpful and courteous services. I'm proud to be part of a wonderful staff. I must also mention that as a customer I receive great service. As an example, the books that Children's Services selected for me this week earned me a hug from one of the second graders at the school where I volunteer.
