in market research and strategic analysis for companies such as DDB Worldwide,
Eli Lilly, Kellogg's, Leo Burnett Advertising, McDonald's, and Sanford Corporation,
will demonstrate how small organizations can implement consumer research. The
program will cover the importance of consumer research, determining the type
of research, getting the maximum value out of research, and doing research
in a cost effective manner.

Environmental Protection Agency's Web Site

Protection Agency’s (EPA) web site is extensive and deep, comprised
of more than 300 distinct areas and over two million pages of html text
and PDF files. It contains a vast amount of environmental information
and serves many audiences. EPA’s
Office of Environmental Information (OEI) has developed hands-on training
sessions conducted with small groups of librarians to share tips and
methods about how to navigate http://www.epa.gov.

The Dynix Horizon system at the core of LINC is a complex system
of functional and database components. To work effectively on
LINC, a basic understanding of how these components operate
and interact is essential. This session will define these integral
parts of the system, such as modules, agency records, accounts,
security records, item types, and other codes. Knowledge of
these
components will be assumed in all other training sessions. The
session will continue with an introduction to the Horizon interface
and basic searching techniques.

The Home Services module allows you to circulate items to borrowers
who are handicapped, hospitalized, or otherwise unable to visit
the library. Participants will learn about the basic structure
of the module; understand the basic data elements required to
operate it; and learn about the concepts of routes, readers
advisors, borrower’s profile and borrower’s log,
and setting up a borrower as a home service user.

A demonstration will take place on the Home Services, Serials,
Acquisitions, and Inventory modules followed by a question and
