BIBLIOGRAPHIC ACCESS SERVICES

Cataloging Center
The Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS) Cataloging Center in Champaign creates records in the LINC catalog so that a library user may know what materials LINC libraries have on a particular subject, whether a library has a specific item, and where an item is located. The IHLS Cataloging Center cooperates with three other cataloging centers--Champaign, Urbana, and Charleston public libraries, to create and maintain these records. The goal of the Cataloging Center is to provide quality records that will accurately describe the items a library owns and make these items accessible to other library users on a regional, statewide, national, and worldwide basis.

Serials of Illinois Libraries Online (SILO)
IHLS participates in Serials of Illinois Libraries Online (SILO), a group of Illinois libraries that share information about the periodicals they own and are willing to loan to others. [more information]
