LTLS Membership Committee Meeting Minutes

February 15, 2005

Members present: Nina Pals, Sharron Kreider, Laura Barnes, Donna Miner, Susan McKinney

Members absent: Allen Lanham

Staff present: Jan Ison, Pat Boze

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted via conference call.

Membership Review - FY2004 APS Forms

Committee members reviewed summary information from the FY2004 APS forms received from 15 libraries. Two recommendations for the LTLS Board of Directors were made as a result of that review:

1) 8 libraries qualify for continued membership in LTLS, with no concern:

Danville Public Library, Gilman-Danforth District Library, Illinois State Water Survey Library, Moyer District Library, Onarga Community Public Library District, The High School of St. Thomas More, UIC Library of the Health Sciences – Urbana, Villa Grove CUSD #302

2) 7 libraries qualify for continued membership in LTLS, with concerns:

Bismarck-Henning School District #1 (bibliographic access), Carle Foundation Hospital Library (bibliographic access), Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley CUSD #5 (bibliographic access), Goose Creek Township Carnegie Library (bibliographic access), Paris Union School District #95 (staffing, bibliographic access), Potomac Public Library (bibliographic access), Rantoul Township High School (bibliographic access)

In other business, the committee reviewed the member comments received on the draft revisions to the LTLS Membership Policy. Based on these comments, the committee will recommend to the LTLS Board that the policy revisions be adopted. The committee also discussed actions for libraries that have not yet submitted their FY2004 APS forms.
