LTLS Membership Committee Meeting Minutes

April 3, 2006

Members present: Nina Pals, Laura Barnes, Allen Lanham, Roseanne Reidner, Sharron Kreidder

Members absent: Anieta Trame

Staff present: Jan Ison, Pat Boze

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Membership Review - FY2005 APS Forms

Committee members reviewed summary information from the FY2005 Annual Profile Summary (APS) forms. Recommendations for consideration by the LTLS Board of Directors were made as a result of that review:

1) 5 libraries qualify for continued membership in LTLS, with no concern:

Illinois Fire Service Institute

Piper City Public Library District

U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories Library

University of Illinois at Chicago, Library of the Health Sciences – Urbana

Villa Grove CUSD #302

2) 3 libraries qualify for continued membership in LTLS, with concerns:

Bement CUSD #5

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley CUSD #5

Jamaica CUSD #12

3) 1 library was recommended for a change in status from Full to Developmental, based on concerns about staffing and bibliographic access

Iroquois West CUSD #10

In other business, the committee also discussed draft changes to the existing LTLS Affiliate Agency policy. Several recommended changes were discussed; another draft will be sent to the committee for further review.
