First meeting of Strategic Planning Committee (Wed., July 27, 2005 – 4:00 to 7;00 p.m.)

Preparing for planning and understanding the process (meeting dates set, sub committees established, etc.)

August 2005

Homework: Committee members review reading materials distributed at first meeting (be sure to make notes for use in future meetings). Additional materials will be distributed as appropriate through planning process.

September 2005

Meeting 2: Strategic Planning Committee (Week of Sept. 5-9)

Mission and Vision revision.

Strategic Planning Kick Off (Sept. 27 or 28 (2-7 p.m., dinner provided) – committee

members encourage colleagues to attend.

October 2005

Meeting 3: Strategic Planning Committee (Week of Oct. 10-14)

Environmental scan and surveys (may be via iLinc – online conferencing system)

November 2005

Meeting 4: Strategic Planning Committee (Week of Nov. 1-4)

What we learned at the kick off and from the scan and surveys? SWOT/PEST Analysis.

December 2005

Meeting 5: Strategic Planning Committee (Week of Dec. 5-9)

Strategy development.

January 2005

Meeting 6: Strategic Planning Committee (Week of Jan. 9-13)

Draft completed and ready for distribution to board and membership.

Draft revised and approved by board, and distributed to membership by January 30, 2006.

February 2005

Draft revised w/comments from membership and submitted to board for approval by Feb. 13, 2006.

Meeting 7: Strategic Planning Committee and LTLS Board (Mon., February. 27, 2006)

Board formally approves new strategic plan. This would be a celebratory

meeting/dinner commemorating the new plan.
